A relatively new name to the beauty tech market, GESKE is making a name for itself with its affordable skincare devices that really deliver on results. Unlike thebest LED face maskswhich go for upwards of £250, GESKE’s collection of facial cleansers, massagers and microcurrent devices are surprisingly effective and won’t break the bank.

Within the GESKE product line is the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, amicrocurrent facial devicethat uses electrical currents to reduce signs of ageing and tone the facial muscles. I put the petite and colourful GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter to the test to see if you can get impressive results at such a low price.

Looking at the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, it’s extremely petite and compact, and almost looks like a heart. The main body of the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter fits in the palm of the hand, and displays an on/off button and ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons for controlling the power output. The reverse side of the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter has the charging outlet, and it can easily sit on your bedside or dressing table with its flat bottom.

The GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter has contouring and firming spheres at the top of the device which is what conducts and releases the electricity. Using microcurrent and SmartSonic pulsation technology, the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter firms and lifts the skin as you glide the device over your face. It has five lifting modes to choose from which work deeply into the pores to ease facial tension, tighten facial muscles, clean toxins and boost your circulation.

Microcurrent devices are non-invasive, and the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter has a low voltage current so it’s safe to use and painless. The GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter has an accompanying AI-powered app, which T3 tried extensively in ourGESKE Sonic Thermo Facial Brush review, and the device is also made from sustainable and eco-friendly materials.

GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter review: performance

To use the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, I applied the Hydrating Microcurrent Gel to my face (note: you need to use this for the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter to work effectively) before turning on the device. The GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter came with a pre-set programme which I used the most during my testing, although the app provides more specific methods depending on your skincare concern.

The GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter is easy to use and comfortable to hold. Gliding it up the cheeks and forehead felt very relaxing and the shape of the spheres allowed it to easily get into my skin’s contours, particularly around my jawline and cheekbones. After a few weeks of using the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, I definitely noticed that my skin felt tighter and more lifted, especially around my cheeks. I also noticed much less sagging around my jaw and my skin felt much smoother and softer after each use.

Due to the size of the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, it’s an easy device to hold, use and travel with. Its battery life is seriously impressive and it took a while to run out of charge, so you can use it for several weeks without having to worry about the charger.

A few negatives I had was the Hydrating Microcurrent Gel dries out quite quickly, so if you haven’t finished your treatment, it might feel a little uncomfortable to use the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter on your skin. The gel is extremely cooling and feels almost icy. Personally, I enjoyed this feeling but it might not be for everyone.

What puts some people off using a microcurrent device, like the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, is that ‘zapping’ feeling. In general, I didn’t experience any zaps, stinging or pain when using the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter… until I ran it over a spot.

If you want lifted and tighter looking skin on a budget, the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter does an amazing job. It might zap a little painfully in some areas, and the gel could be better, but for under £50, you really can’t complain about what you get with the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter.

GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter review: alternatives to consider

A good alternative to the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter is thenuFace Trinity+. Both devices have similar features and design, although the nuFace Trinity+ can be used on more areas of the body… it will cost you, though.

TheZIIP Halois another alternative to the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, and it’s not too expensive either. It’s not as comfortable to hold as the GESKE Microcurrent Face-Lifter, but the ZIIP Halo has a superior gel and is more instructive.
